Tape Run

Like modern day archeology, from the depths of our shared heritage some copies of various tape runs resurfaced, all untouched and still in their original package.

The tapes were dubbed and assembled at home, all are chrome quality.

The tapes are available at the Underbelly distro in Rotterdam, also on-line.

 

Montreal Tape Run was released in collaboration with crustacés tapes from Montreal. This is the staaltape version. Link MTR

Berlin Tape Run -home version-

Ten numbered copies of the Berlin Tape Run -home version- are now available. Berlin Tape Run was the first release after staaltape woke up from a 15 year coma. The package is completely handmade, tapes dubbed at home with high standard equipment. More info in the staaltape shop and in the staalplaat shop

Berlin Tape Run, DeLuxe version, one remains

On Sunday 26th of August I handed over one copy of the Berlin Tape Run, Deluxe version to a happy listener. It happened on a beautiful white cloud/blue sky sunny day in front of the entrance of the Bundestag in Berlin, while world-war-one-military-marching-band music came floating from Angela’s garden party.

As with all the staaltape releases that leave home base by post also this copy was packed in a special way. Only one copy of the Berlin Tape Run, DeLuxe version remains. This one, or the alternative pocket version are available at the shop

A Selection of Tapes

I have a small amount of tapes at home. German shipping costs permit to send multiple tapes up to a weight of 500grams for 3.70€. This is worldwide. Unfortunately this also means that the shipping cost for 1 tape is 3.70.

I can’t offer discounts on an order of three or more tapes, because the price of the handmade releases (both Berlin Tape Runs, both K-tapes) is already at a low given the amount of time I need to produce one single tape.

Berlin Tape Run, Limited DeLuxe and Pocket Edition

In the last days of June 2018 I was a guest at the Cassette Culture Node Linz exhibition, organised by Wolfgang Dorninger. Instead of setting up a workshop and risk zero participants, I made perfect use of the work table in the exhibition space and produced 2×10 copies of the Berlin Tape Run. Berlin Tape Run was the first release by staaltape after a 15 years break. It was also my first production for staaltape.

Both versions are completely handmade and limited to ten numbered copies. I used flyers, magazines, glue, scissors, paint brushes and acryl paint in the process. The tapes were dubbed from a chrome BTR copy on a ferric transparent 40 minutes tape, played back by a Sony pro Walkman and recorded by a Marantz CP430.
